Hi guys,
Someone having experience with recording audio, MIDI and automation simultaneously?
I just tried it and it sort of works, but the workflow is rather slow.
Details:
One instrument is to be played and recorded as one-takes. Playing this instrument produces two audio outputs and some MIDI output. The MIDI output is both simple notes, just like any MIDI keyboard would send, but also three MIDI CC#s. Each one of those three CC# is controlling three differently scaled parameters in a number of plugins on both audio, MIDI and aux channels.
I'm assigning the MIDI events to the parameters as usual in the Controller Assignments window. Then I record enable all tracks, enable automation and set all tracks and bus/auxes to Latch mode. This all works fine.
However, the problem is that a plugin parameter assigned for external control does only follow its controller event when you select the track that is hosting the plugin. And it is not possible to select more than one track! (yes, I tried with holding down the shift key!)
