Ok, this is a weird one. Summary:
First, I sometimes get a lot of latency when recording virtual instruments, even with buffer down to 128. So I use the low latency button.
This “fixes” the latency, but after recording and switching low latency off, the parts I recorded show up about a beat or so late on the piano roll grid.
They still play at the right times, but the way they’re visually located on the grid is off.. This makes editing a literal nightmare.
Note, I use the capture record mode, meaning I’m not actually recording, just playing along with the track. If I get something good, I punch the capture button and bam, it’s there on the track. I haven’t tested this while actually hitting record. I haven’t actually touched the record button in months. It’s possible my method of “recording” without actually hitting record may have something to do with the issue. Just don’t know yet.
I’m not sure what’s happening, but want to ask the forum if anyone has seen this behavior, or has any theories as to the cause. Is it a bug? Or normal for what I’m doing here? TIA.
