Logic Pro 9 Reformatting Drive - DVD Content needed?

Hi there,
I posted this on gearslutz, but I think this is a better place.

Mac Pro - 2 x 2.66GHz
SL 10.6.3

I have Logic 9 and all the Content/Jam Pack DVDs installed. There's a big problem on this hard drive that demands a reformat - new OS / reinstall Logic. But I don't have my Logic package, books, content with me - just a backup of the installer alone.

But I have access to the raw folders in the Finder right now. Can I just manually back up these files:
HD > Library > Audio > Apple Loops > Apple
???

I've done similar things with Spectrasonics SAGE folders and other plugins. Just install the program new so its creates the right folders, and if lucky drag and drop huge GB folders into the right places and they'll become active and available in the program.

Will the above work? I'm probably missing other important files that say to Logic "look here to include these libraries, this is installed" sort of thing... some preference file or something? Or is this the only place Logic "looks" for extra content.

Please let me know!

----

Sorry, to clarify that... I'm not talking about just jam packs, I'm talking about ALL the built in instruments, sampled sound, synths, etc. ALL the content. I have it installed now. I've found a 31 GB folder (the path I listed above) Is that everything?

And is it even possible? My brother has all the content DVDs for Logic at the other end of the country. Do I have to get them back? Or since they're installed right now, can I manually copy them to a backup hard drive, reinstall Logic with just the 1st disk, and then copy them back?

Sorry to be redundent, just want to be clear

Thanks for any help.

Personally, I wouldn't try anything like this without the original content discs being available. You also need your serial number, and if you have an upgrade version of Logic, a serial number from logic 8, or your XSKey may be asked for when installing.

What is the problem that requires you to reformat?

kind regards

Mark

My Mac is running literally 10 times slower than it should/used to - and very unstable.
DiskWarrior reports hardware malfunctions, says backup and reinstall.
Disk Utility says bad node tree, backup and reformat.

I wouldn't recommend doing it this way either, but I might have to. My question still stands if anyone knows if it's possible, and if so what should I drag off to back it up.

Thanks!

Thanks Orren and Mark.

I know it's not recommended and wasn't meant to work this way. But sometimes when you know the in's and out's of where an installer creates files, you can get around it in a pinch. Of course I don't want Logic to be buggy and crash because of this. But there's a chance this would work.

Does anyone know 100%?

I have a backup of the first DVD and my SN and that 32 GB folder backed up. I'm probably missing some other crucial files though?
