Logic Pro 9 Region Inspector Float

One change that was not so welcome in Logic 8 was that the ability to float region parameters was removed. In Logic 9, the KC Option + R allows these parameters to float once more:

The Key command toggles the float window.

Another new feature is the ability to apply gain to individual regions, it looks like this:

The values that can be applied range from -30 to +30 dB, albeit in 1 dB steps.

The 1 dB steps are ok for me. What turns me off a bit is that the gain works on individual regions but this was probably a request from many people. Now I have to alt-click each track for channel trimming. Better than nothing but I personally would prefer a trim knob in each channelstrip like on most mixing desks.

(... and get rid of this ridiculous and useless little EQ picture. But I think I am almost alone with this opinion 😉)

Yes, I would like that as well. What is possible is to select all the regions on a track and apply the same amount of gain to them. Still not as convenient as this means any changes wrt the regions on a track will then mean going back and checking the gain values. Trim would in this case be perfect.

No, you're not. I make a point of always unchecking EQ Thumbnails. It would be nicer to have to do this just once as a display preference.

Yeah, you are a much nicer guy than I ever can be. I would simply remove the EQ thumbnails from the program forever and screw a trim knob on the place they waste ... 🙂
