Logic Pro 8 Region time stretching

The documentation is sparse on this point. Are the settings in the time pitch (whether radius or the apple algorithms) used by the region time stretch or does it use some sort of self defined default. I've been spending some time with the region properties, have to admit, they seem a bit more sensible than beat detective and much more accurate in quantising than anything performer or protools seem to offer at the moment - it kind of puzzles me how the comments about it being behind the curve came about.

I may be wrong, but off the top of my head I think it's the last used algorythm you may have chosen in the Sample Edit.

Perfect, I thank you both - did some playing with it...discovered some interesting things and a few tricks elastic audio can't do. Does the forum allow linking to video tutuorials?

Something I've always wondered about - does the "follow tempo" function use the last selected algorithm in the TP machine? Or is it independent of those algorithms?

Follow Tempo uses the RAM-based (not file based) realtime algorithm that is built-into the system and used by Apple Loops.

That's why it sounds worse than Radius or Pitch N Time...

Yes.

And if the tutorial is on youtube you can actually embed it in visually in the post using the youtube icon above
