Logic Pro Relationship Between Markers and Cycle Length

Hi, I'm learning Pro X and this one is a head-scratcher: what is the relationship between markers and cycle length? When I move from marker to marker using key commands, the cycle length changes. I'd like to simply move from marker to marker while maintaining the cycle length of my choice independently.

Thanks!

Are you using the key commands "got to Next/Previous Marker and Set Locators"? That would explain the behaviour you describe - the key command allows you to move through markers and simultaneously set the cycle length to be between the marker you went to and the next one. There are however two Key Commands "Go to next Marker" and "Go to previous Marker" - these do not change the cycle locators and are probably what you want.

kind regards

Thanks, I appreciate your remarks. I was really baffled by this for a spell. What I did discover is that, if you expand the marker track (vertically), you can set independent marker 'lengths' by dragging on the right-hand-side of the marker. This marker length then becomes the default cycle length when keying over to any given marker. Its interesting. Weird, but interesting.

All the best,

Mike
