My Focusrite Saffire pro 40 have been great, and Focusrite seems to be very committed to support it with both driver and firmware updates to add features and OS support.

If it were me and I only needed 2 channels I'd look into the Apogee Duet only because I switch to the Apogee Symphony system this year and am thrilled with the sound. Plus, you get 2 mic pres with the Duet on top of the inputs which supposedly sound pretty nice.

You mentioned originally that you needed four outputs. What about the Presonus Firebox? It's not "sexy", but a reliable and trusty solid old workhorse.

Apogee DUET

I went through about four interfaces until I found the DUET. In my opinion, for your budget, the way to go for sure. It was quite a headache getting myself to that conclusion, I now use an Ensemble for the band. Go Apogee!

Only two outs though... Best quality and user interface, ESPECIALLY with Logic, it's built in...

My second favorite was PreSonus.
