Logic Pro Score editor with audio?

Can I safely assume that the score editor can only translate MIDI, not audio?

The Score editor can only show MIDI. You can, however, analyse monophonic lines from an audio region with Flex Pitch and then turn that information into a MIDI region, which in turn can be read with the Score editor.

Well, when I got home last night, I realized that it was probably going to be a lot faster to just manually play my original piano line as MIDI notes, rather than figure out how to use Flex Pitch. I suspect that even after learning how to use Flex Pitch, playing the MIDI myself will be faster.

Playing it yourself will always be faster. If you can play it yourself, which not every sound engineer or singer or bass player can.
