Logic Pro Scoring #'s in Eb

LogicJam

Logician
Trying to do a simple score , lead sheet.
One line, in Eb. Did the key signature, all notes ok except:
it won't let me do an F#. as in G, F#, G. it tries to make me do G Gb Gnatural.
Putting a # in front of and F, does not make it play as F#.
If I move the note up in piano roll, from F to F#, score makes it into Gb.
Also won't let me do a B natural. It insists on a Cb.
Is there some setting that allows above, or , in general, # 's in a flat key ?
thx
B

When you say Logic "won't let you" are you using the enharmonic shift up or down?

Either with key commands or from the menu > Functions > Note Attribute > Accidentals > Enharmonic shift

Your doing something wrong.... can you post a screenshot of your score ?
In Eb a g is a g (the note should be a g midi event)

Use the shift # to enharmonicly raise the note and use shift b - to lower it. It you don't get the results you want then the actual pitch of the note is incorrect - just move it a semitone up or down and apply the above again if needed.

Here is a sample of all the enharmonic equivalents in the key of Eb. ( if I did this right....)
All three notes for each note name are exactly the same pitch and will play/sound identical to each other....

Ok. Thx. I got my F# to indicate correctly.....bar 24 in screen shot.
But I still can't make the Cb come out as Bnatural, in bar 25. I know, same note, but it's part of a G7 chord, I like to make it easy for chord freaks...like me.
It's a B natural in the piano roll, but I cannot make it indicate as such , via the Function>note attributes process.
Am I missing something?

Make sure the note is actually a B ( just double check in the event editor to be absolutely sure).
Then use the Shift b or shift # to modify the enharmonic naming..... There can be more than one step depending on the situation so press each at least 2 times to see all option..... I typically do it out of habit.
Press
shift b ( look at screen) then shift b again ( look at screen)
then shift # ( look at screen) shift # again look at screen

Remember you typically have to cycle through 3 different displays so depending on where you start - you may have to go up or down at least 2 to see all options. I hope this makes sense....

Hit shift b (several times) to scroll through different options
Hit shift # ( several times) to scroll through different options.

Wow, works, just like u say.
Thx. Been trying to plow thru Ashers score book. Very comprehensive, but not always easy to follow,
and he wrote it in the Logic 9 days. Any idea of a more up to date "Everything you need to know for LogicX scoring " type book?

Hey thanks. Didn't know you were "right there" on the forum
Yea I have your original book, and the new one.
Very helpful, and I'm pushing thru both.
Not that important, but I used to hand write lead sheets, and made tune section indications with a A1, A2, B 1 , or A1,2, etc. with the number very little, then a square around it. Could not figure out how to do this graphic. Settled for the word Verse1, then box around it from the tool box. Works.
Thx for all the great info.

No need for that, it can be done with text styles (Score layout menu). Create a new text style called Boxed, and define it as boxed in the font dialogue. (You can also have circled)

Then type your text, and from the inspector on the left
