Logic Pro 9 Scrambled Inputs

Hi all,

had an interesting but slightly embarrassing moment yesterday whilst trying to record a singer and I could get no signal on the input channel though the sound was registering on my interface (2xMotu 2408mk3 and 1x8pre - Focusrite Twin-Trak Pro feeding SPDIF inputs of 1st 2408).

Luckily the session was finishing and when I had chance to investigate I found that all my input channels had moved to different virtual locations (8pre 3 (set up for guitar) is now 8pre7!)

The setup has been working fine for ages so why should all the inputs move around? Any ideas?

I haven't used that interface, but I'm wondering if the switch didn't occur there rather than in Logic. Can you assign inputs to specific outputs?

I think it might be to do with the order I fire up the interfaces and the computer. I'm going to experiment tomorrow.
