Logic Pro 9 select certain velocities

How do you select all velocities below a certain level with the mouse in Piano roll? I can't drag over the events because that always puts a line that changes all the notes to the same velocity. I just want to compress the velocity: bring up notes that are too low and lower those that are too high. If I could select the notes I want quickly, I then could drag them in the lower part of the window where the velocities are.
TIA

Not sure if there's a way to do it like you mentioned, but you can get the same result using the Transform function in the Piano Roll Menu. Just select Transform/Velocity Limiter, set it to Minimum (min.) and type in the minimum velocity you want.

Got an even faster way: in the track inspector, you can actually use 2 things to do this:

1) Take the dynamics down to 50%
2) Increase the velocity until you get the maximum velocities you want in the track.

It is true that both methods are fast, but somehow they "blind" and do not match the OP dual condition "bring up notes that are too low and lower those that are too high."

To my opinion the Transform is the surgical tool cause you can set a custom Velocity limiter as it is shown below. The only condition is - you must had not have too much alcohol to draw straight Mapper lines

Many ways to skin a cat it seems. Interesting.

On my side, I have "Hide Unused Parameters" checked most of the time. I just select "minimum" and enter a numeric value in the field below, say 60. Any note that's under that value is brought up to 60 and the rest remains untouched.

So easy that you could probably do that even after a few bottles. 😉

Edit: Actually, I guess your method (and George's) would make more sense as it would do both tasks at once - limiting and bringing the notes with lower volume up.

Definitely,

The Mapper diagonal can be easy refreshed via the "Initialize" button below. But for drawing straight upper or lower limiter mapper lines you must have at least 1kg Vodka or nothing depending on your Mode !😎
