Logic Pro 8 Set Project tempo to match audio region

Hi.

I have a drumloop neatly looped in the sample editor playing in arrange window. I want the project tempo and the metronome to match with the tempo of the drumloop. I tried the "adjust tempo using region length and locators", but that did not help.
Anyone?

That is the only way I know of to do it. It'd easy to miss the obvious though, e.g. not actually having the audio region selected.

This is the exact procedure I find:

  1. Select your audio region (e.g. it is just over 2 bars long and you want uit to be two bars of the new tempo)
  2. Set the locators, I do this by "drawing" a 2 bar cycle in the bar ruler
  3. Click on Options>tempo>adjust tempo using region length and locators (or use the key command: Apple + T)

The only thing I'd change from the previous post is instead of manually drawing the locators, just click the set locators to region length. It should be a button in your header at the top of the arrange.

I'm not sure I follow that, wouldn't that set the locators to the length of the region at the wrong tempo?

I'm not sure what you mean by the region's locators.

Assuming your region is (for instance) two bars long, but because the project tempo is different it appears as 2 and a bit bars, or just less than two bars.

You just select the region, then draw a 2 bar cycle region , then hit Apple + T (or use the menu)
