Logic Pro 8 Should I Un-Install Logic Express 8 Before Installing Logic Studio 8 Retail Version?

Logician
I have a Power Mac G5 PPC with maxed out ram and 2 1TB HD's OS X 10.4.11
Audio interface is MBox 2. Also using an Acorn MK-61 midi keyboard.
Everything works well together, has no latency or buffer issues.
I have no aspiration to upgrade to a bigger/faster/newer system.
(I know it's old, so am I)
I currently am using Logic Express 8, and it runs flawless with no hiccups.
I do however desire to install Logic Studio 8, which I just purchased on Ebay for a very low price.
I have 2 questions:
Do I need to un-install Express 8 first? (and if so, how?)
Do I need to do anything special to my song files for Logic Pro to open them? (They live on the non operating system drive in their own folder).
I am sorry for asking a question that has probably been answered a hundred times, but I really need the most current advice on this issue.
Please help. Thank you, and I really like this forum.

AFAIR, installing Logic Studio 8 alongside Logic Express 8 should not cause any problems. Your Logic Express Projects should open in Logic Pro.

kind regards

Markdvc, thank you very much! I searched all over the net and it seems to be the concensus to just leave it there. I am an ex-Acid Pro user and a friend gave me a G5 and I bought Express 8 on Ebay to see if I could get into the Logic groove. I seem to be learning the program pretty well (WAY different than Acid Pro). I found a really good deal on an un-opened Studio 8, so I figured I would make the jump up.

I installed Logic Studio 8 over Logic Express 7 without removing LE 7 and had no problems. But getting Logic 8 as an upgrade to authorize was a confusing mix of dongles and serial numbers. I don't even recall what worked now. Maybe you have a full version rather than an upgrade. Either way, good luck with it.

Should be easy. I think V8 is where they dumped the dongle. For updates, you still needed the dongle, the old SN, the new SN, and so on, and had to get it all in the right order on a sunny Tuesday morning after a full moon.

Update

Big black box of joy arrived yesterday. Installed successfully. Tested and works.
Left Express 8 on the drive.
Only 2 glitches;
1. Mainstage crashed when I switched it from internal audio to Mbox/core
Restarted and works just fine.
2. Logic, while trying to load the Software Instruments template had several EX instruments that it could not find (?)
Everything I tried in the library of instruments worked so no worries there.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and I am sure I will be asking way too many questions here.
I'm starting to wish I had been using this program instead of Acid Pro.
Thanks for the advice folks!
Until my next stupid question.....
