I've set up Logic Express 8 on my Intel Macbook Pro , and have managed to record audio ok. When I try to use software instruments however , nothing gets recorded - the keyboard produces sound , the AU plugins create sound , it registers on the meters but doesn't record. In the left hand field 'Core Audio' is greyed out as are most items in the Audio pull-down menu. Core Audio says it is enabled in the main Audio Preferences menu however. Can anyone shed any light on this ? I'll try to add screenshots. I've tried rebooting , stopping Core Audio in Activity Monitor , checked Audio settings in System Preferences and in Utilities>Audio and Midi.
