Logic Pro 9 Sound Diver with Logic 9

Hi All,

I have managed to get sound diver working on my 10.5 install using a dongle. Its pretty buggy but its nice to be able to edit the instruments. Is there any way to get it to not crash logic when I have them both running at once? I dont care that they dont link, just would like to tweak sounds while logic is playing if possible.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

John

Not that I know of, if my memory is correct the last Sound Diver was PPC only, and works via Rosseta PPC emulation.

If you are on a MacIntel, they really don't mix.

I opened SoundDiver yesterday for the first time in ages (Intel Mac Pro OS 10.6.2) and it crashed Logic within seconds!! 🙁

Be aware:
There was an issue years ago where if you opened SoundDiver, there could could be tuning problems with Logic, even if you opened Logic afterwards. Instruments would suddenly be transposed randomly.

I used to open SoundDiver, load sounds that I needed, and then LOG OUT and back in again before opening Logic to prevent these issues. I don't use my hardware much anymore, hence the long non-use of SoundDiver.

Sadly SoundDiver is old now and it doesn't seem that other similar apps are really in the same league. Pity Apple has never released an update since it took over all the Emagic apps. Obviously the folks at Apple don't think there will be a big hardware owner user base....
