Logic Pro Spinning Ball of Death when closing list of regions

I'm using ver. 10.3.3 and every time I try to collapse the long region list in the Browser window I get the "spinning ball of death!" My projects are mostly radio programs/podcasts, so not a huge track count (5 at the most) but sometimes a great many regions due to intensive dialogue editing.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

I've finally gotten in the habit of having all other programs closed ( even mail and safari) when running Logic and I've noticed a difference. I've also merged regions in the same track. That has helped. So I have one long region in tbe track rather than a bunch of short ones. Idk how but that has helped avoid the spinning ball of death.
