Logic Pro 9 strange automatic transposition

Somehow I found a bunch of chords transposed in my bass and piano tracks. They weren't just transposed in an orderly one step way. I had to move them half bar by bar. Finally I just went to the end of the song and copied the bass and piano for the verse there. But when I paste them in the first part of the song they are transposed weirdly again!
This is way beyond the conceptuality of my grey matter.

Using the chord track aren't you?

The most devious thing the folks at Logic land ever created. The will take your chords and convert them into completely new cords if it is enabled. Mind you, your apple loops will be in the correct note and key range, just your midi data is messed up.

Am I in fact correct?

Indeed you are my friend. Hmm. I haven't used it a lot. Seems like I used it once before and didn't get that. Well, thanks for that. I'll try disabling it.

Wow, that bug is incessant! I opened another file and was doing a little work and the parts were confused. Thought I'd check and... yes, there was a chord track. I reverted to the last saved, which was fine, and I thought I would delete the chord track to be safe. As soon as I deleted it, It was all messed up again. I guess I'll just hide it and hope for the best.
Actually, I figured out exactly what happened. I had had the chord track hidden. I added four bars to the beginning by selecting all and dragging 4 bars. Since the chord track was hidden, it must have been 4 bars ahead and somehow transposing stuff.
I don't get why deleting it would mess things up though. Anyway, I've now been twice bitten and am four times as shy. 🙂
