System overload

I keep getting System Overload - the audio engine was not able to process all required data in time.

I run LPX on this machine:

Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Zeon processors.

I have 8 GB 800Hz DDR2 RAM.

Can anyone please help

TIA Jay

Are you running other apps in the background?
What plugins are instantiated?
Posting a screencture of your mixer window could give an idea of what you are asking to your CPU.
Selecting an empty audio track with Record and/or Input monitoring disabled could also prevent Logic to be in "live mode" which is more demanding CPU-wise...

Thanks Atlas. I think it's Time Machine which I recently installed. Now my Mac is backed up I'll turn it off for the time being. I think that should do it.

Turning off Time Machine hasn't solved the problem. If I look in Acitvity Monitor I see LPX is taking 160+% of CPU. How is this possible?
