Logic Pro The Step Editor

Hi everyone
I have a problem with step editor. It's actually a fairly old problem but I have been too busy to actually figure out if it's a bug or a feature 🙂
Anyway I have a little time now before the next project and I try to catch up on the things that have room for improvement (not an easy task).

I have used step editor since it was hyper editor and because I came from Cubase in the 90s I have a lane-set set up pretty much like the drum editor in Cubase, some will know what I refer to.
Until a couple of years ago when you selected an event with the pointer, it would deselect the previous selection. Now it doesn't do that unless it's the same lane.
On the other hand, if you hold down arrow while selecting it will deselect the events in the other lanes but not the lane you're editing in.
It's only the pointer and the finger tool that behaves like this, the other tools work like they used to.
Is this a feature or a bug, and if it's a feature when does it make sense compared to the original approach. It is very annoying when adjusting velocities that much I know.

PS I know that the step/hyper editor is not the most hyped side of Logic but am I the only one who have wondered about this. I did a search and nobody else seems to ever had been annoyed by this.

All the best
Henrik
