Logic Pro 8 There is no solo button and ungrouping tracks

I previously used an older version of LE, now use LE8. When I load a MIDI file into LE8, I don't see any solo buttons.

Also in another MIDI file there are solo buttons, but it seems some of the tracks are grouped, how do I ungroup all the tracks so I can solo an single track?
