Logic Pro 9 transferring a midi sequence

I have midi sequences recorded in Digital Performer on my old Mac G4 that I would like to transfer to Logic Pro 8 on my Mac G5. What's the best way to do this?

DP has some sort of export as standard MIDI file command. That would be a good place to start and see if enough of your information is transfered. You'll probably have some work in Logic after you bring files in - but, it should work pretty well.

I do this often. You use DP to save your DP projects as standard MIDI files (I suggest you use format 1 to have separate tracks) and then you can use those files in Logic.
The trick is to OPEN (not import) the MIDI files in Logic and you get the tempo track as well. Some adjustments may be needed (i/o assignments, software instruments ...) but it work wells.
Have fun!
