Logic Pro Transform window

Byron Allred

Logician
I have a MIDI track that I accidentally recorded triple hits of the same note, each with a different MIDI channel. In past Logic versions I was able to use a transform window to delete the unwanted events by channel selection. I can't figure out how to do that in Logic X. I went to Functions / MIDI Transform, but couldn't figure it out. I saw an example in a Forum post of the Transform window (in the Environment) that would do the job, but I couldn't find either Environment or Transform window in the Help search.

How do I get to the Transform window that will do the job I'm looking for?

Select one note in the Score, Piano Roll or event list,
then local menu Edit > Select > Same MIDI Channel
and delete. Repeat for the second channel.

Thanks Peter... That did the trick.
I still wish I could use the Transform window like in past Logic versions... Is that done with the MIDI Transform window? If so, how to you set the criteria like this example:

Oh, I thought you wanted to delete recorded notes.
To remove channels from a stream with your transformer:
Set the channel in the "Conditions" area to 1. This will block notes on other channels.

Do you have a reason for this velocity processing? First you block velocity 0 and afterwards you scale the remaining 1-127 to 0-127. Is that to remove note-offs and still get a 0 value? I am just curious.

Your screenshot is from the Logic Environment, it shows a transformer and it's edit window. In the example the transformer converts notes to Fader events. This technique can also be used to remove notes on specific channels from a MIDI stream.

There is a similar window in the Score and Piano Roll:
Local menu, Functions > MIDI Transform
But you cannot delete notes there.

I still can't find MIDI Environment. When you say "Main Menu", I assume you mean the white strip across the top of the display. (Is that right? I couldn't find "Main Menu" with the Help search). I clicked on Window, but didn't see MIDI Environment listed there. What am I missing?

Peter, thanks for your patience... I discovered the problem. MIDI Environment definitely was not showing up in the Window pull down menu. I tried the key command (Command 0) from your screenshot example. It gave me the message "Additional option required".... "Expert MIDI" must be enabled in your preferences. Once I found that and enabled it, "MIDI Environment" showed up in the Window menu.
