Logic Pro 9 tuner not working in Logic Express

Hi, plugged in guitar to logi express. amps effects etc work fine but can't get tuner to regiter note.
Tried everthing Help

I had this happen in LogicPro and found out that it was because I had a Waves RenComp in the slot immediately after it.. Removed the Ren Comp and it was fine again... Weird, but true!
Not sure if this is any help in your situation however,
