Logic Pro 9 Ultrabeat strangeness

I have a kind of nifty beat in Ultrabeat and I want to use it in the sequence so I use the little button to drag it into the sequence, but it sounds NOTHING like what the ultrabeat window had going. The tempo is different, only a couple of the notes show up and it's so far from what I have in the Ultrabeat window that it might as well be from another project altogether.

Yes the headscratcher of the 1/12 to 1/16, etc. is confusing, but the sequencer track has NOTHING to do with what is in the Ultrabeat window. Neither manual (LP9 or instruments) deals with this much or at all.

Guidance anyone?

Could you post a screen capture of UB Step Grid with the involved pattern that you wish to copy to your Arrange; and the Piano Roll Editor displaying the region involved...
