Logic Pro Unusual midi question, Logic to Yamaha work station.

I am trying to get midi files from Logic Pro X to map correctly on a Yamaha PSR 540 workstation. ( yes…old, but works well )
I make up a backing track, simple, say, 4 tracks , assign a midi channel to each via inspector, drum 10, others 1,2,3, Then export w/ “ save as midi “,..format 1, then drag file to a floppy drive ( yes, floppy., PSR uses them , small data, less than 1.5 mb)) ,insert floppy into Yam drive, then hit play. tracks play well, but mapping is wrong, ie, tracks mixed together , like format 0. , but same on two Yam mix tracks, like 1, 5. Not sure what’s wrong.
Any commercially purchased backing tracks work well, all divided into individual instrument on the Yam mixer.
Am I missing something simple in the logic saving step. ? Can’t find any choices in preferences.
And… does the logic inspector truly give a highlghted trak a midi # ?
Thx for any answer.

working on old comp. Os 10. Maybe os !1 better,…. I have other comp

Are the regions on each track one continuous region or several separate regions on each track? If separate regions, try joining the regions on each track into one continous region per track, the full length of the song, before exporting to SMF.

Yes. All regions continuous. Test tune very short…about 16 bars , just to try out process.
I got same question into Yamaha Musicians site. My Yam plays midi back tracks from many commercial sites, and lots of old free ones from Van Bosco etc. All made on somebody’s DAW., all nicely spread out over 16 trk mixer/player. Why not LP x? Frustrating
Thx for attempting answer.

Even tried Sweet Midi Converter…..dragged in format 1 file, converted to 0, then back to 1. No joy.
Thought of going in with format 0, then converting to 1, but LPx won’t save a multi track file as format 0. At least I believe that.
