User name change

Can anyone tell me how to change my displayed user name?

I'm new to the site, and for some reason my user name is my email address, which I prefer to keep private...
 
This is not a user accessible function. Simply let me know (by PM if you prefer) what you would like your user ID to be and I will look after it for you.
