Hi,
Trying to free up a bit of processor on the Mac running Logic, I would like to set up some midi instruments (mainly Toontrack drums) to run on another Mac in Live.
I did this a couple of years ago and it work like a dream, but the setup was a bit of a hassle since I had to reset stuff each time I had disconnected my Logic computer (which was was a MacBookPro that I used for other stuff as well) - So I gave it all up after a while.
I've now moved my Logic to a stationary computer and would like to set this up again, but can't for the life of me figure out how I did it in the first place. Does anyone know how it should be set up?
What I remember is this:
I used Audio Midi Setup (somehow) to set up a midi connection.
I had an external midi track in Logic (that contained the midi signals) which was (somehow) connected to an instrument (midi track) in Live.
Logic would then play the individual instruments in Live as external midi instruments.
(I think my main problem is seeing Live and the individual tracks when creating an en external midi track in Logic.)
Some info:
Logic 9.1.8 on a 2.3 GHz Mac Mini (Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3), OS X 10.8.2.
Live Lite 8.1.3 on a 1.66 GHz Mac Mini (Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2), OS X 10.4.11.
Connected via 1 Gbit ethernet.
(I tried to post this query first on a forum calling itself LogicProHelp, since it seemed to be a "help" issue, but there were to takers - Starting to get a bit desperate...)
