Hi,
I'm fairly new to using the latest composition/audio software, and I'd like to see if what I want to do is possible. Many moons ago I used MOTU Performer and Composer to do this.
I'm using Finale 2011, Logic Pro 9 and have the GPO4 as the orchestral sounds I'd like to use. I've done some output directly to audio file from Finale using GPO for Finale, but now I have some projects coming up I need to use something more powerful for mixing, hence Logic.
For some simpler items - piano solos, e.g.- I've been able to save as MIDI from Finale, open the MIDI in Logic and then tweak away, even when the instruments didn't translate correctly (e.g., in one score, one of the two Steinways in Finale became a Music Box in Logic - changed to Steinway, didn't lose any MIDI info).
So - what I want to do is:
1. Write it in Finale
2. Somehow get it to Logic - saving as MIDI, opening MIDI is real easy and pretty solid.
3. Change the tracks that came in from MIDI to use the GPO4 sounds.
It's step 3 I'm stumped on.
Thanks!
