Logic Pro 9 varispeed question

hey hey
i'm running a project right now.

drums and bass are tracked to a click at 140bpm.

group decision after the fact is that it's too slow.

vari-speed sounds great when boosting the speed 8-10% for those tracks.


my issue is that the guitars, when recorded with varispeed on- sound phasey, and nasty....

recorded with VS off sounds great, but when we increase the speed 8-10%, we get the artifacts and whatnot.


is there a way to either print or freeze the bass and drums at the new tempo, so we can record the guitars at the preferred tempo?

It's a new feature and I haven't messed with it at all but the obvious solution would be to bounce the drum and bass tracks unless for some strange reason that doesn't work.

i was under the impression that the varispeed effected the whole project---and not the individual tracks.

i'll play around and see what happens.

But wasn´t that the idea, to varispeed everything that you possibly could get away with and then rerecord the rest. I'm still not sure if it will work but it might.
