After years of hard work, the Vienna Symphonic Library is pleased to announce the release of their new Vienna Imperial virtual piano. To create this tour de force, the Vienna team collaborated closely with Bösendorfer in an unprecedented marriage of technologies that resulted in the most intricately detailed virtual piano ever attempted. The Vienna Imperial software instrument features a
Bösendorfer 290 Imperial with up to 100 velocities and a staggering 1,200 samples per key. That enormity of samples combined with Vienna's newly-designed proprietary piano engine has resulted in a virtual piano with phenomenal detail, feeling, and clarity that must be experienced to be appreciated.

I'd like to hear from someone who has compared this with Synthogy Italian Grand, which uses fewer samples of course. But it doesn't always follow that more is more 🙂
