Logic Pro 9 what is .lbm?

I found this:
I have some too, but I also have files of the same name but with the .aif extension.
My best guess is that these have something to do with fade files in Logic - hence the .aif file for the audio and the .lbm file for the graphic display of the fade.
Maybe someone else can confirm....?
.LBM File Extension:
Interchange File Format-Interleaved Bitmap (IFF-ILBM) file; created by Electronic Arts' Deluxe Paint, a graphics editor developed for Amiga systems and later ported to other platforms.
LBM files use formatting similar to Portable Bitmap (.PBM) files. They may be black and white, 16 color, or 256 color images.

xmiinc, thanks. Have downloaded the app.
However, the info is as colin provided. The info doesn't tell me enough to know whether to delete these files or store them carefully within an appropriate project folder.
I find it quite strange that Logic Pro seems to be generating these files, yet there's nothing in the manual and next to nothing on the internet.

Hi Peter,
Upon further thought, fade files always have names like yoursong.logic-f16s.aif so it's clearly something else.
It is indeed strange that there is no info about these files in Logic. Pity one can't actually email someone at Apple and ask them....
You could try a test:
Save a copy of your project folder for safety, then delete these files and see if anything happens. Does the song still play perfectly? Does Logic re-generate the .lbm files?

Hi Colin, yes, I found a song that wasn't client-sensitive and did exactly as you suggest: I opened the song, closed it, deleted the files, then opening the song again. Couldn't see/hear a difference.
I had a strange call from an apple rep today who offered me 'business' status on account of the number of purchases I've made on the Apple Store. I couldn;t figure out why Apple would want to establish P2P support for small fry such as myself ( one desktop mac from the refurb store every 3 years hardly constitutes a big player, plus the odd macbook) . However, part of the deal was 'support' so I threw this problem at him and he promised to come back to me 🙂

Of all the many projects I have, only one has these .lbm files (2 of them).
Please let us know if you get any clarity from Apple and your rep....

If someone cold calls you about a business relationship with Apple or any other company, I would be very suspicious.

His email address uses the @apple.com domain and he hasn't asked for any security details.
