Logic Pro 9 What is the cheapest configuration of mac to run logic pro 9 on?

I'm buying a Mac Book Pro and I'm thinking about purchasing the £999 13" cheapest one, would this be sufficient to run logic pro 9 smoothly on it? It has Dual Processor...

Well, smoothly if you are running EXS with no filters, most of the internal instruments other than Sculpture, which with the right patch can bring most current Mac Pros (and in says, and current laptops) to their knees (overloaded with core audio errors, so no playback).

Really, I'd either save for a better one, or have you considered a Mac Mini? You can upgrade it to a full i7 sandy bridge CPU quad core, and put a bunch of ram in it, your much better off than the laptop.

For comparison purposes the logic multicore benchmark at Gearslutz shows, that they are OK.

I completed my last cd project on a less powerful mini.

But if you can save for a 15inch quad i7, they compare nicely to the earlier Mac pros
