Wow name has started and i was asking somebody that was going there was there going to be a logic booth. He said apple won't be there.I was hoping that apple might bring out Logic 10 or something instead there is nothing.i always get excited during this time of the year cause of namm, all that new gear and companies trying to get on the cutting edge.Korg came out with a new synth workstation.Yet and still i wanted to see a New Logic daw come out,pro tools and cakewalk have stepped it up a bit so i thought apple would bring out there flagship this year, maybe they still will, say your prayers everybody that apple release something that will rock the house, Peace!:hippy:

Apple hasn't done NAMM for a few years now, and tend to bring out Logic when the dang well please. The last time they "followed the pack" and released Logic Pro 8 right after the big Cubase announcement, Logic Pro 8 was the biggest POS out for a long time, and I was almost going to toss Logic aside for that one. LP8 was not ready for primetime.

Logic Pro 9 was the proper version of Logic Pro 8 in my opinion. It works, has great new features that work and make sense now, and is pretty stable. And it was announced in spring if I remember, with no notice at all, and suddenly it was out and in stores before you knew it. Like a present between birthdays, or Xmas, or whatever.

It used to be cool to see the Emagic guys at NAMM, I really liked talking to some of the actual Logic developers one on one with my suggestions and complaints (maybe that is why they stopped going to shows eh, because I know I was not the only one ;-).

Actually, I got my Logic 10 release date info from George......😉

Seriously, Apple hasn't done NAMM (nor NAB, etc.) for 2 or 3 years. It hasn't hurt their stock price at all....... Also, Logic 9 came out in 2008 - I think late July. If you want to speculate on a Logic 10 release, Apple has loosely followed a 2 year cycle in releases. So MAYBE something might happen this summer - pure speculation and conjecture on my part. As George pointed out, they no longer use trade shows to launch a new release.

Would seem to make sense that they don't release it before the next big OS upgrade next summer. And since I've only just transitioned to Logic 9, personally, I'm hoping they keep 10 on hold for a a bit longer... 😉

I don't think any of the recent Logic releases had anything to do with the OS release time table as much as there was speculation before 10.6 SL came out.

Yeah, Logic releases seem to happen independently of OS or hardware developments at Apple. Last release was summer 2009; so hopefully we'll see something new in the third quarter of this year.

I'm absolutely happy w/ 9 and still learning here, which is why I'm in no hurry. But you guys have been around for much longer than I've been so I guess you know.

It seemed to make sense to me if the OS was to open some new possibilities to wait in order to take advantage of those things. But that was pure uneducated speculation on my behalf I'll admit. 🙂

I'm with YOU! I'm in no hurry to change anything. Logic 9 works great for me right now. I'm a happy user right now.
