Logic Pro Where is the mysterious Channel Strip folder?

Andre Favreau

Would someone know why all my Channel Strip instruments for GarageBand are all doubled?
I know one folder can be found here: Library-Application Support-GarageBand-Instrument Library-Track Settings-Software

But there seems a second folder somewhere on my mac and it's not the one in: USER-Library-Application Support-GarageBand-Instrument Library-Track Settings-Software, because it's empty.

Someone would know where that mysterious folder is?

(See attached file)

Thanks

Have you tried doing a Spotlight search on any of those duplicates yet? If it shows no duplicates, then somewhere in preferences you may be specifying the same directory in the search path twice.

I discovered that the Legacy-GarageBand Channel Strip settings are all in the same folder:
Library-Application Support-GarageBand-Instrument Library-Track Settings-Software

Why are the folders repeating themselves (Bass-Bass, Drum Kits, Drum Kits...) and how does Logic differentiate between the .cst files that belong to one Bass folder or the other Bass folder? I have no idea. But the first of these folders seem to come from the Legacy default GarageBand sounds and the second one from the Jam Packs. These Jam Packs don't come with GarageBand anymore, but if you already had them or if you bought MainStage 3, then you would have them.

In Mainstage, they are distinguished by "GarageBand Settings" (Jam Packs) and default "GarageBand" folders.

So I guess it is normal, though strange, to have two "Bass" folders, two "Drum Kits" folders, etc.

Would that make sense?
