Logic Pro 9 Wierd delay on bounced tracks

Hey guys,

I mixed a 60 minute set the other day. Then I broke up the entire mix into 13 individual tracks. I bounced all 13 tracks as mp3's into a folder on my computer. When I play these mp3's on iTunes or anything else that plays mp3's it gives me a 20 second delay on each track before the actual music plays...it's not seamless...any idea on how I could correct this and eliminate those 20 seconds so tracks play back to back...

Ps - the 20 seconds is built into the actual mp3 track...so the song starts playing at 0 but it's dead air until 20 seconds in to the track and then the song begins to play...

Was this a realtime or offline bounce? If realtime were you hearing the 20sec at the time?

Did you do a bounce based on a cycle or project length?

I have had some odd things happen if doing an offline bounce. To be safe always do a realtime bounce using the LR locators with a cycle enabled. And always check the bounce.

I basically use the scissor tool to cut up the entire mix into 13 smaller tracks...kept all 13 tracks on the same strip...and I bounced them using the cycle I think...sorry I'm new to logic...so I'm kinda learning as I go...but basically I would highlight each track with the green loop symbol...not sure if it's called cycle or not...but I would bounce each track that was highlighted under that loop...once it saved as an mp3 on my computer I would go back and replay the track on iTunes or other media and each track would have exactly 20 seconds of dead air at the start of every track...forcing me to fast forward each track 20 seconds so the song could start...

I kno I could probably go back and edit each track individually to eliminate the dead air...but I'll prob end up screwing with the over all project since it's a seamless 60 minute set...

Sorry...no, within logic the 20 second dead air doesn't exist...only when I bounce a track out into mp3 form and then it'll show up on the mp3 during playback...

Does this mean that you see 20 seconds of silence in the mp3 file when you look at the waveform in an editor and in Logic?

Peter, yes... Once I bounce the audio out as an mp3 and I playback the track on a media player there's 20 seconds exactly of dead silence at the start of the track...if I load it back into logic the 20 second dead air shows up on my editor...this is bouncing audio out using cycle offline...

PS - i found a solution for the problem...I bounced each track with cycle feature turned on...in 'realtime'...it takes a bit more time to bounce each track...but once it's done there is no dead air at all...

That's why I asked if you were using offline or realtime. I (and many others) don't trust offline bouncing.
