Logic Pro External MIDI - Out Channel in two places

If I create an External MIDI Track with the tick box "Use External Instrument plug-in" ticked I will have access to some midi settings both in the Track Inspector and the "External Instrument" plugin window.

MIDI Out Channel can be set in both places which makes no sense.
It seems the plugin selection has preceedence but if I set it to "All" then it's the Track Inspector settings that decides, unless I set it to "All" too in which case it sends on MIDI Channel 1 (okaaay??). The MIDI Out port can not be set in the Track Inspector which also seems odd given I have the choice to set MIDI Out channel in the Inspector.

It seems a little half baked to me how this works.
Also the classic MIDI Channel (without the "plug-in") is even more inconsistent but that's for another discussion.

In Logic "All Channels" means "same as In Channel".
For example:
I have a 2 Manual Organ Keyboard as Input. Upper Man on Ch 2, Lower Man on Ch 3. When I now set the External Instrument to the Port on which the Organ is and the Channel to All then Logic sends the signal back to the corresponding Manuals of the Organ.
And you're wright; The out Channel of the External Instruments overrides the out of the inspector.
I think they made this for the reason that now every Midi Instrument (Software or external) have the same inspector.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks.

Still not sure why there is a MIDI Out channel (but not a MIDI Out port) in the Inspector. But it's not a big deal from a working perspective.
