HELP, I Need Someone...

New to Logic Pro but not Macs, I have a transfer from VHS to DVD of an old stage play. They used the camera mic so there's a lot of room ambience and some reverb in the audio track. Is Logic Pro a tool to improve the audio track? I have no other idea of who to ask.

You have a couple of problems here.

- VHS has quite bad frequency response and dynamic range
- The same goes for an old camera mic
- the mic position will likely record more room than source

What you have may be described as noisy, distorted, dull, flat, roomy and distant.

That is a lot to ask and no, Logic can not really improve this. You will put lots of effort into it until you think you made it slightly better, but someone else may not even notice this as an improvement.

You might have a chance with specialized restoration software like iZotope RX, but this takes skill.

Yikes, Christian, thanks for the encouragement. Having a bad night were you?
No lack of skills here, just experience in this task.
Thanks for the tip on iZotope RX. Already purchased.
