Logic Pro 11.2.2 on Mac mini M2 Pro, Sequoia 15.7.1
Just added an SSL 18, updated firmware and decided to test out the recording delay.
96kHz, 32 samples for buffer size.

I have a 1kHz sine wave audio file playing out of an output, cabled up to an input for recording.
Last night I was getting 223 samples of delay very consistently.
This morning, -151 samples. Yes, audio recorded ahead of the source file!
This afternoon, -46 samples. Tried using the I/O plug-in to see the measurement and it returned 45 samples, but -46 is right.

What is this about?
Is it common to have to set this at every tracking session?
Is this a Logic issue? Hardware issue? Driver issue?
Nothing else is running on the machine and the session has no plugins.

Thanks in advance.

Probably not a hardware issue. I just connected a Volt 746 in place of the SSL 18 and get the same behavior.

Seems like I can close and open sessions with a consistent recording delay.
Quitting and restarting Logic changes the recording delay.
Changing the sample rate changes the recording delay.
Changing the buffer size changes the recording delay.

Also, seems like when the I/O plug-in ping returns a positive value, ( x ) samples, I need to set the recording delay to ( -x ) samples.
When the I/O plug-in returns a negative value ( -y ) samples, I need to set the recording delay to ( y + 1 ) samples.

I'm going to leave logic running overnight to see how long the recording delay lasts without changing on me.

Changed by the time the sun rose this morning.

I guess my question is, "Is this normal?"
Do you all experience this with your USB interface? Or is there something off nominal going on in my system?
